Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Geoffrey O'Down started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Claggan Utd getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Blathmac Gough hit a great ball. Duff Doherty made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leon McVictor in the 10th minute. After 10 played minutes Claggan Utd got a freekick which was hit by Burke Kelly. The supporters of Cloonfinnaun booed when Claggan Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torrey McTom didn't get a good kick on the ball. Burke Kelly kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. A hard and well directed shot from Biddy McLaughlin led 17 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Claggan Utd's Duff Doherty became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 1-0. Blathmac Gough was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 22nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Loughlin Dempsey might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Duff Doherty. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Loughlin Dempsey ran back to his position shaking his head. Leon McVictor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Duff Doherty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Duff Doherty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loughlin Dempsey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cloonfinnaun's Biddy McLaughlin couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 34th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Claggan Utd. Duff Doherty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loughlin Dempsey, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After a rather tough play, Cloonfinnaun's Dermod Morrison got a free kick in the 37th minute. Geoffrey O'Down recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Boudibiua McIan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kyle Beckett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Loughlin Dempsey to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geoffrey O'Down in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Boudibiua McIan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Duff Doherty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon McVictor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Loughlin Dempsey in the 62nd minute of play forced Claggan Utd's goalkeeper Duff Doherty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Loughlin Dempsey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Cloonfinnaun's zone, Kyle Beckett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boudibiua McIan came out of the goal and Kyle Beckett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 71st minute, Kyle Beckett left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Claggan Utd fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Geoffrey O'Down charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geoffrey O'Down the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Geoffrey O'Down kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Geoffrey O'Down fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boudibiua McIan having to interfere. Loughlin Dempsey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
