Brefni Prunty started the match with the kick off. In the 4th match minute, Mace FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brefni Prunty to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Beara McBjarton in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lou McBrand saved Mace FC from getting behind. After having played for 8 minutes, Beara McBjarton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leap AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beara McBjarton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brefni Prunty during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Leap AFC booed when Mace FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brefni Prunty didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 18 minutes, Brefni Prunty managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mace FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brefni Prunty was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Brefni Prunty recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bannan Tierney made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Brann Mullan sent off a good shot on target. Brann Mullan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bannan Tierney having to interfere. Braden Gough's late challenge caught a Leap AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Braden Gough helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Mace FC's Braden Gough got a free kick in the 35th minute. Beara McBjarton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Lou McBrand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brefni Prunty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Bannan Tierney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Brann Mullan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Beara McBjarton made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Mace FC's zone, Beara McBjarton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lou McBrand came out of the goal and Beara McBjarton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brann Mullan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bannan Tierney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brefni Prunty, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Beara McBjarton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leap AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Beara McBjarton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lou McBrand breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Beara McBjarton was extremely unlucky when he, in the 67th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 71 minutes into the match, Beara McBjarton dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lou McBrand, 0-1. The supporters of Leap AFC booed when Mace FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan McGlynn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brefni Prunty struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Bannan Tierney didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mace FC. Leap AFC's Bannan Tierney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brann Mullan in the 82nd minute of play. A collision led to Leap AFC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Breas McJohn hit a great ball. After having played for 96 minutes, Brefni Prunty managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mace FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brefni Prunty was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leap AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
