Spectators: 6765 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1765, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Dromcunnig's goal looked a bit too open when Brefni Prunty came free, but Bohannon Tierney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 6 minutes into the game, Dromcunnig's Darren McJohn nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lou McBrand made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Bohannon Tierney was a little too slow when Brann Mullan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Loughlin Dimson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dromcunnig's supporters rose to their feet, but Loughlin Dimson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lou McBrand breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brefni Prunty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bohannon Tierney having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Dromcunnig's Darren McJohn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lou McBrand narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Brefni Prunty's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bohannon Tierney read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darren McJohn in the 27th minute of play forced Mace FC's goalkeeper Lou McBrand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Loughlin Dimson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Lou McBrand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bohannon Tierney was a little too slow when Brann Mullan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 2-1. Brann Mullan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lou McBrand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loughlin Dimson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Darren McJohn was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Dromcunnig booed when Mace FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gavin Dunne didn't get a good kick on the ball. Loughlin Dimson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Lou McBrand made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Mace FC's zone, Loughlin Dimson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lou McBrand came out of the goal and Loughlin Dimson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brefni Prunty in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bohannon Tierney prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 66 played minutes Dromcunnig got a freekick which was hit by Raymun Robinson. Darren McJohn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bohannon Tierney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brefni Prunty in the 79th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Brefni Prunty got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lou McBrand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darren McJohn in the 88th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Braden Gough hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raymun Robinson struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Lou McBrand didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dromcunnig. Dromcunnig's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
