Brecc Prunty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boudibiua McIan having to interfere. Loughlin Dempsey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baydan Keegan having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Glangristeen's Darrin McAaron got a free kick in the 8th minute. After 10 minutes, Biddy McLaughlin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cloonfinnaun and the Glangristeen players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 13 minutes, Art McPhil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glangristeen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Art McPhil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Cloonfinnaun getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Bragain McPhil hit a great ball. Brecc Prunty received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Boudibiua McIan came out and tried to block the shot, but Brecc Prunty slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 15th minute. Boudibiua McIan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Art McPhil in the 23rd minute of the match. Dermod Morrison's late challenge caught a Glangristeen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dermod Morrison helped the player get up and apologised. In the 25th minute, Dermod Morrison hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baydan Keegan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Loughlin Dempsey in the 27th minute of play. Bragain McPhil charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bragain McPhil the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 29th minute, Bragain McPhil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brecc Prunty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Boudibiua McIan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leon McVictor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baydan Keegan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. If Brecc Prunty had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th match minute, Cloonfinnaun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ryley Rogers to maneuver through the defense. Boudibiua McIan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Art McPhil's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Loughlin Dempsey to strike the kick off in the second half. Leon McVictor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baydan Keegan having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Loughlin Dempsey in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Baydan Keegan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 55th match minute, Glangristeen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darrin McAaron to maneuver through the defense. If Leon McVictor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bragain McPhil kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. If Brecc Prunty had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Brecc Prunty came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Glangristeen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brecc Prunty couldn't finish the play. Brecc Prunty sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cloonfinnaun's Bragain McPhil got his second yellow card of the match in the 65th minute. The referee ordered Bragain McPhil off the ground. The supporters of Glangristeen booed when Cloonfinnaun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bragain McPhil didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute Brecc Prunty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boudibiua McIan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leon McVictor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Baydan Keegan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Glangristeen's Joseph Ramsey got a free kick in the 74th minute. An unexpected shot in the 76th minute by Leon McVictor got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Leon McVictor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baydan Keegan having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Glangristeen's zone, Leon McVictor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baydan Keegan came out of the goal and Leon McVictor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Boudibiua McIan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Art McPhil, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Cloonfinnaun's zone, Brecc Prunty stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boudibiua McIan came out of the goal and Brecc Prunty tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Glangristeen's Art McPhil in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cloonfinnaun's goalie prevented a goal. Boudibiua McIan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brecc Prunty's shot from short distance in the 97th minute.
