Biddy McLaughlin was slow to take the kick. During this time Cloonfinnaun's players had a chance to rest. Randal Walker made a great header on Cloonfinnaun's corner, it was just that Leap AFC's Bannan Tierney managed to reach the ball for a save. Beara McBjarton struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Boudibiua McIan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leap AFC. A collision led to Cloonfinnaun getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Dermod Morrison hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Leap AFC's Isaac McAlphie got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute of the match Biddy McLaughlin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bannan Tierney showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 27th minute, Leon McVictor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bannan Tierney was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 29th minute, Biddy McLaughlin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Loughlin Dempsey in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bannan Tierney saved Leap AFC from getting behind. 35 minutes into the match, Cloonfinnaun's goal looked a bit too open when Beatty Murphy came free, but Boudibiua McIan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boudibiua McIan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beara McBjarton in the 37th minute of the match. Leon McVictor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bannan Tierney having to interfere.
