Seating: 1778, VIP seats: 0) Edenacarnan's Caoilte Kelly started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Caoilte Kelly fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Logan Scully having to interfere. Bellaghy Deans took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Logan Scully. Ballynagore AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Flann Ryan got free with Peter Ryan in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Caoilte Kelly's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Logan Scully was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. 15 minutes into the match, Edenacarnan's Bragain Branson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Logan Scully narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caoilte Kelly in the 16th minute of play forced Ballynagore AFC's goalkeeper Logan Scully to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute, Bivitas Dillon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Edenacarnan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Bivitas Dillon came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Edenacarnan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bivitas Dillon couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice moves Flann Ryan could shoot a difficult shot in the 29th minute, which Peter Ryan however easily saved by the left post. With a little luck, Edenacarnan's Peter Ryan got control of the ball when Flann Ryan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ballynagore AFC's Brenna McWilliam shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 32nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Peter Ryan but with some difficulty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cathal Taylor in the 35th minute of play forced Edenacarnan's goalkeeper Peter Ryan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edenacarnan's Peter Ryan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flann Ryan in the 39th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Edenacarnan's Bellaghy Deans got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cathal Taylor to make the kick off. Ballynagore AFC were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Edenacarnan's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Brendon Cronin took the corner. The corner led Ballynagore AFC's Brendon Cronin to fire away a dangerous shot which Peter Ryan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 55th minute Flann Ryan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Ryan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Brendon Cronin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Peter Ryan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Flann Ryan's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. In the 79th minute of the match Blayne Mullan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Logan Scully showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Ballynagore AFC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Brenna McWilliam hit a great ball. Ballynagore AFC's Logan Scully proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Ballynagore AFC from getting a goal against them. Caoilte Kelly fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Logan Scully having to interfere. David Dunne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caoilte Kelly could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Logan Scully made a huge save. Caoilte Kelly in the 95thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Logan Scully, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Despite being the better team, Edenacarnan failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
