The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edwin Hunt hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After having played for 9 minutes, Carson Myler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cahersween Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carson Myler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Beiti Glen Crowe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Cahersween Utd's Boethis Cooney threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Carson Myler, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Boethis Cooney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carson Myler, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Ryan McOliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baolach Savic having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cahersween Utd's zone, Ryan McOliver stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baolach Savic came out of the goal and Ryan McOliver tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Baolach Savic stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Beiti Glen Crowe's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Boethis Cooney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carson Myler, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Brett McWills short, quick shot in the 39thth minute got Boethis Cooney to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Rahans FC's Baolach Horgan got a free kick in the 46th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Beiti Glen Crowe was the one to do the kick off. Brett McWill might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Boethis Cooney. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. When Ryan McOliver came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Rahans FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ryan McOliver couldn't finish the play. Carson Myler struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Boethis Cooney didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cahersween Utd. Cahersween Utd's Carson Myler got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Carson Myler came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Cahersween Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carson Myler couldn't finish the play. 78 minutes into the match, Rahans FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carson Myler came free, but Boethis Cooney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Cahersween Utd fans' excitement grew in the 80th match minute when Cahersween Utd's Brett McWill looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 84 minutes of play, Rahans FC's Ryan McOliver made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Baolach Savic was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Brett McWill in the 88th minute of play forced Rahans FC's goalkeeper Boethis Cooney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ailín Horgan's late challenge caught a Cahersween Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ailín Horgan helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cahersween Utd booed when Rahans FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ailín Horgan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
