Spectators: 6773 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1773, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Breadan Murphy started the match with the kick off. Breadan Murphy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baolach Savic having to interfere. In the 8th minute Carson Myler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shamus McPaul saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cahersween Utd's Baolach Savic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breadan Murphy in the 17th minute of play. A collision led to Cahersween Utd getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Beagan Gollogley hit a great ball. After 18 minutes of play, Rathscannel's Breadan Murphy made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Baolach Savic was left in no man's land by his defense there! 32 minutes into the match, Edwin Hunt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Shamus McPaul. Rathscannel's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edwin Hunt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 37 minutes into the game, Rathscannel's Breadan Murphy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Baolach Savic made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. In the 41st match minute, Cahersween Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ron O'Brien to maneuver through the defense. Breadan Murphy struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Baolach Savic didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rathscannel. 48 minutes into the match, Rathscannel's goal looked a bit too open when Carson Myler came free, but Shamus McPaul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carson Myler to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute, Riley Deery hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Baolach Savic managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Rathscannel's Breadan Murphy fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 66th match minute, Cahersween Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ron O'Brien to maneuver through the defense. Rathscannel's Dane McJohn got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot 74 in the game by Breadan Murphy from a close distance when the talented Baolach Savic managed to make a qualified save. Cahersween Utd's players were relieved. After 75 played minutes Cahersween Utd got a freekick which was hit by Edwin Hunt. In the 75th minute, Breadan Murphy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 77 minutes into the match, Breadan Murphy dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Baolach Savic, 1-4. In the 82nd minute, Ron O'Brien hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the match, Rathscannel's goal looked a bit too open when Beagan Gollogley came free, but Shamus McPaul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rathscannel were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Cahersween Utd's much stronger midfield.
