The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 7 played minutes Ardranny got a freekick which was hit by Baoithin Rogers. Shamus McPaul was out of position in the 10 minute of play, and Saoirse Lavine capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Saoirse Lavine really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After 12 played minutes Ardranny got a freekick which was hit by Bairthmead Walker. In the 13thth minute of the game Breadan Murphy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ardranny's Art McJohnny was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 15th minute, Ardranny's Baoithin McMichel dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. When Breadan Murphy came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Rathscannel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Breadan Murphy couldn't finish the play. Shamus McPaul made an important save on a dangerous shot by Saoirse Lavine in the 27th minute. Art McJohnny showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breadan Murphy in the 30th minute of the match. Breadan Murphy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Art McJohnny tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ardranny's Baoithin Rogers got a free kick in the 36th minute. Dane McJohn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Art McJohnny showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breadan Murphy, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brefni Murphy during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Ardranny getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Brefni Murphy hit a great ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Breadan Murphy made a kick off. Breadan Murphy who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Art McJohnny when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Breadan Murphy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Art McJohnny was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Breadan Murphy got free with Art McJohnny in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Breadan Murphy struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Art McJohnny didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rathscannel. Art McJohnny showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dane McJohn, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. After a rather tough play, Rathscannel's Terrence McCollion got a free kick in the 65th minute. If Bardain Tracy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the game, Finn McJon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Shamus McPaul was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A hard shot 74 in the game by Breadan Murphy from a close distance when the talented Art McJohnny managed to make a qualified save. Ardranny's players were relieved. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Baoithin Rogers during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 78th minute of the match Bairre Johnson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Art McJohnny showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Bardon McTommy fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rathscannel's protests and gave Bardon McTommy a yellow card for diving instead. Bardon McTommy kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. With his leg Art McJohnny managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when Rathscannel's Breadan Murphy fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Ardranny getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Brefni Murphy hit a great ball. Breadan Murphy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rathscannel's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
