Spectators: 6772 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1772, VIP seats: 0) Ballybrew's Kealan Grant started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Ballybrew's Beatty Delaney got a free kick in the 7th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Kealan Grant had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Berk McCready. Carrig Utd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kealan Grant was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Bran Beckett fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballybrew's protests and gave Bran Beckett a yellow card for diving instead. It was beautiful to see Carrig Utd's Rowland Barrett in action when he in the 20th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Gavin McPhilip sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kealan Grant in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Berk McCready saved Carrig Utd from getting behind. Britt Kirby recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Berk McCready stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kealan Grant's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Kealan Grant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Berk McCready having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Britt Kirby made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Carrig Utd getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Gavin McPhilip hit a great ball. 55 minutes into the game, Kealan Grant recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Berk McCready. Kealan Grant showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. If Britt Kirby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kealan Grant who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Berk McCready when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Carrig Utd booed when Ballybrew was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beatty Delaney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ballybrew's Brandon McFrank quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Donlan Willson, made in the 68th minute of the game. Kealan Grant could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Berk McCready made a huge save. Barnaby Caffey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Britt Kirby in the 76th minute of play. After 81 played minutes Ballybrew got a freekick which was hit by Pierson Duggan. In the 83rd minute, Kealan Grant ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Berk McCready was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Ballybrew's Teagan McJohn got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ballybrew eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
