Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Kealan Grant made the kick off and thus started the match. The supporters of Gortnagane FC booed when Ballybrew was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bran Beckett didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beatty Delaney kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Barnaby Caffey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Briain McJohn in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute Briain McJohn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barnaby Caffey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barin Deans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th minute, Beatty Delaney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13th minute of the match Briain Grant shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Barnaby Caffey showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 18th minute, Briain McJohn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gortnagane FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 21 played minutes Ballybrew got a freekick which was hit by Beatty Delaney. Barnaby Caffey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarlath McGlenn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th play minute Kealan Grant came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Brennen McVictor. 1-1. Beatty Delaney kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. After 36 played minutes, Gortnagane FC's Treno McAaron shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Barnaby Caffey came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gortnagane FC reached it. Bressal Grant made in the 37th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Brennen Hutton immediately put the ball in play. Gortnagane FC's Briain Grant couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ballybrew. Briain McJohn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Barnaby Caffey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jarlath McGlenn to make the kick off. Teagan McJohn hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Brennen Hutton hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After 65 played minutes, Ballybrew's Raymond Ramsey shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Brennen McVictor came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ballybrew reached it. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Jarlath McGlenn took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Barnaby Caffey to make any attempt to save it. 74 minutes into the game, Kealan Grant cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Brennen McVictor was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ballybrew's goalkeeper Barnaby Caffey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kealan Grant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brennen McVictor having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Kealan Grant managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballybrew's supporters rose to their feet, but Kealan Grant was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brennen McVictor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ballybrew's Barnaby Caffey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Ballybrew from getting a goal against them. Jarlath McGlenn struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Barnaby Caffey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gortnagane FC. Gortnagane FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
