Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Doonally's Seosamh McPeter started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Barhart Todd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Ainnle McWilliam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Doonally's goal looked a bit too open when Barhart Todd came free, but Ainnle McWilliam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Paulsworth Utd's Barhart Todd got a free kick in the 13th minute. Paulsworth Utd's Alex McCollion played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seosamh McPeter in the 17th minute of play. If Brady McDonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 23rd minute by Seosamh McPeter got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Doonally's Ainnle McWilliam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barhart Todd in the 24th minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Baolach McSteve was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Doonally's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paulsworth Utd the free kick. Gearoid Mullan struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Ainnle McWilliam didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paulsworth Utd. 28 minutes into the match, Doonally's Brady McDonald sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alex McCollion narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alex McCollion stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Seosamh McPeter's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Berkley Dimson during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Doonally booed when Paulsworth Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Berkley Dimson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute, Blayne McPeter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Barhart Todd recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ainnle McWilliam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barhart Todd in the 40th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Barhart Todd in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ainnle McWilliam saved Doonally from getting behind. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gearoid Mullan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alex McCollion showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Seosamh McPeter, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Alex McCollion took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Seosamh McPeter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barhart Todd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ainnle McWilliam having to interfere. Barhart Todd who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 97thth minute tested the skills of Ainnle McWilliam when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Paulsworth Utd walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
