When Donelle Ghee fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rineanna's protests and gave Donelle Ghee a yellow card for diving instead. In the 32nd match minute, Rineanna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donelle Ghee to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Rineanna's zone, Caimin McSteven stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bairre Horgan came out of the goal and Caimin McSteven tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Rossanean getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Dillon McJohn hit a great ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Caimin McSteven stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Rineanna's goalkeeper Bairre Horgan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Barclay McJohnny. After having played for 62 minutes, Barclay McJohnny managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rossanean's supporters crossed their fingers, but Barclay McJohnny was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Rossanean booed when Rineanna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teris Costello didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute Caimin McSteven shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bairre Horgan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Barclay McJohnny came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Rossanean fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barclay McJohnny couldn't finish the play. Caimin McSteven struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Bairre Horgan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rossanean. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Barclay McJohnny managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rossanean's supporters rose to their feet, but Barclay McJohnny was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bairre Horgan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bairre Horgan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caimin McSteven, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. 78 minutes into the game, Teris Costello was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
