Spectators: 6760 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1760, VIP seats: 0) Monneill AFC's Boyle McGlenn started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Roy Kelly hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 9 minutes into the match, Barraduff's goal looked a bit too open when Boyle McGlenn came free, but Basil Ferguson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roy Kelly fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basil Ferguson having to interfere. Brefni McGlenn struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Colm McGlynn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barraduff. Bradain McGlenn's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 23rdth minute, Colm McGlynn skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Boyle McGlenn in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Basil Ferguson saved Barraduff from getting behind. After having played for 29 minutes, Roy Kelly managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monneill AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roy Kelly was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Monneill AFC's zone, Brefni McGlenn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Colm McGlynn came out of the goal and Brefni McGlenn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Becan Walker didn't quite understand what happened when in the 43 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Brefni McGlenn to strike the kick off in the second half. Blanche McSteven kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. 56 minutes into the match, Barraduff's goalkeeper Basil Ferguson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roy Kelly. Monneill AFC's Boyle McGlenn got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bradain McGlenn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Brefni McGlenn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Bradain McGlenn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 77 minutes into the match, Monneill AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Brefni McGlenn came free, but Colm McGlynn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peter Hamilton kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. When Boyle McGlenn came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Monneill AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boyle McGlenn couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Monneill AFC's zone, Brefni McGlenn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Colm McGlynn came out of the goal and Brefni McGlenn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 92nd minute, Boyle McGlenn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Monneill AFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
