Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ballybrew's Kealan Grant started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kealan Grants short, quick shot in the 4thth minute got Bairre Horgan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Kealan Grant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kealan Grant recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kealan Grant blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bairre Horgan having to make a save. 20 minutes into the game, Pauric Dalton threw the ball into play from the sideline. Ballybrew's Brandon McFrank quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 22 minutes into the match, Kealan Grant notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Rineanna's Bairre Horgan. Bairre Horgan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Rineanna defense, Kealan Grant kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bairre Horgan. The Rineanna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bairre Horgan should have stopped the shot. If Kealan Grant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kealan Grant who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Bairre Horgan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ainnle Horgan kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Bairre Horgan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raymond Ramsey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Rineanna booed when Ballybrew was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beatty Delaney didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Kealan Grant came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Ballybrew fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kealan Grant couldn't finish the play. Bairre Horgan was a little too slow when Kealan Grant got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 46th minute. The score was now 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brendon John to make the kick off. After 55 minutes, Beatty Delaney mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballybrew and the Rineanna players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th minute, Beatty Delaney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 59 minutes, Kealan Grant managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballybrew's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kealan Grant was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 61st match minute, Rineanna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teris Costello to maneuver through the defense. Bairre Horgan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kealan Grant, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 74th minute, Brandon McFrank got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kealan Grant in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bairre Horgan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Brandon McFrank fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bairre Horgan having to interfere.
