Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Brendon John started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Teris Costello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Brefni Silke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bairre Horgan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Britt Kirby's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Britt Kirby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bairre Horgan having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Brefni Silke managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carrig Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Brefni Silke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bairre Horgan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Britt Kirby took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bairre Horgan. Bairre Horgan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 18th minute, Brendon John hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rineanna's Bairre Horgan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Britt Kirby in the 19th minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Patraic Murphy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carrig Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rineanna the free kick. Patraic Murphy hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Bairre Horgan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Britt Kirby in the 27th minute of play. Britt Kirby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bairre Horgan having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Britt Kirby had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bairre Horgan. Rineanna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Britt Kirby was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The Rineanna players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Carrig Utd were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Britt Kirby was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Britt Kirby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bairre Horgan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Britt Kirby in the 57th minute of play forced Rineanna's goalkeeper Bairre Horgan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58thth minute of the game Britt Kirby who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rineanna's Bairre Horgan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Brefni Silke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Bairre Horgan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carrig Utd's Britt Kirby got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pauric Dalton's late challenge caught a Carrig Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pauric Dalton helped the player get up and apologised. After 66 played minutes Rineanna got a freekick which was hit by Pauric Dalton. 67 minutes into the match, Carrig Utd's Lochlainn Lester broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Bairre Horgan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gavin McPhilip, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. The supporters of Carrig Utd booed when Rineanna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brendon John didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Teris Costello managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rineanna's supporters rose to their feet, but Teris Costello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Berk McCready breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 83 minutes into the match, Brendon John had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Berk McCready. Carrig Utd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brendon John was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Bairre Horgan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Britt Kirby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brendon John blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Berk McCready having to make a save. Britt Kirby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Bairre Horgan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
