The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 2 minutes, Seosamh McPeter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Doonally's supporters crossed their fingers, but Seosamh McPeter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Doonally booed when Gortnagane FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Briain Grant didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lee John, 5 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Brady McDonald struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Brennen McVictor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Doonally. If Bivitas McJohn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ainnle McWilliam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bivitas McJohn in the 16th minute of the match. Doonally's Brady McDonald got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Brady McDonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Brady McDonald made a precise shot to the right of Brennen McVictor. Gortnagane FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. When Cullan Myler fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Doonally's protests and gave Cullan Myler a yellow card for diving instead. After 31 played minutes Doonally got a freekick which was hit by Cullan Myler. Ainnle McWilliam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bivitas McJohn in the 35th minute of the match. Bivitas McJohn struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Ainnle McWilliam didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gortnagane FC. Bivitas McJohn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Ainnle McWilliam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ainnle McWilliam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bivitas McJohn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Seosamh McPeter stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Brennen McVictor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Seosamh McPeter in the 58th minute of the match. Bivitas McJohn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ainnle McWilliam having to interfere. If Bivitas McJohn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ainnle McWilliam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bivitas McJohn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Doonally's Ainnle McWilliam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bivitas McJohn in the 80th minute of play. A collision led to Gortnagane FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Payton Willson hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Seosamh McPeter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brennen McVictor was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Gortnagane FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 90th minute, when Seosamh McPeter scored to the left of an out of position Brennen McVictor, making the score, 1-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Doonally walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
