Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Beachain Scully got the match started through his kick off. Blackwater's Robin McAlphie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breed McWilliam in the 4th minute of play. Beachain Scully fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keefe Colwell having to interfere. In the 9th minute Beachain Scully shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keefe Colwell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Blackwater's goal looked a bit too open when Breed McWilliam came free, but Robin McAlphie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Bras Caffey notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Knocknahoran Utd's Keefe Colwell. Keefe Colwell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Berrin McSteve during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Berrin McSteve kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 25th minute, Bat Horgan made a precise shot to the right of Robin McAlphie. Blackwater's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In a very dangerous position, a player in Knocknahoran Utd fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 27th minute. Penalty! During the 34th minute of the match Berrin McSteve completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Berrin McSteve a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 35th minute, Berrin McSteve hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Blackwater's Robin McAlphie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breed McWilliam in the 36th minute of play. If Beachain Scully had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the game, Knocknahoran Utd's Breed McWilliam nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robin McAlphie made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. A hard shot 44 in the game by Beachain Scully from a close distance when the talented Keefe Colwell managed to make a qualified save. Knocknahoran Utd's players were relieved. Robin McAlphie came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Knocknahoran Utd's Bat Horgan. But to his dismay, Bat Horgan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bat Horgan to make the kick off. If Beachain Scully had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Beachain Scully sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Beachain Scully received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Keefe Colwell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Robin McAlphie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bardain McPhil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Breed McWilliam might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Robin McAlphie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Breed McWilliam ran back to his position shaking his head. Robin McAlphie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bec Dillon in the 75th minute of play. A collision led to Knocknahoran Utd getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Declan Deans hit a great ball. When Beachain Scully came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Blackwater fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beachain Scully couldn't finish the play. Keefe Colwell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bras Caffey in the 84th minute of play. Blackwater's Bras Caffey got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 94th minute of the match, Breed McWilliam got a very nice opportunity to score, but Robin McAlphie was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Bras Caffey's late challenge caught a Knocknahoran Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bras Caffey helped the player get up and apologised. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Blackwater lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
