Spectators: 6777 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1777, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Eoghan Delaney took the kick off in the first half of the match. Brann Moran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Bardon Cassin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ballinalack booed when Attavally Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierce Grant didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bardon Cassin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eoghan Delaney in the 7th minute of play. Bardon Cassin made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Brann Moran sent off a good shot on target. In the 22ndth minute of the game Brann Moran who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ballinalack's Bardon Cassin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Quaid McVictor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Paul McPhilip tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ballinalack's goalkeeper Bardon Cassin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 31 minutes into the match, Ballinalack's goal looked a bit too open when Eoghan Delaney came free, but Bardon Cassin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tipper McStephen's late challenge caught a Attavally Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tipper McStephen helped the player get up and apologised. 32 minutes into the game, one of Ballinalack:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 34 minutes, Attavally Utd's Braddon McJohnny got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Bardon Cassin. Ballinalack's Quaid McVictor got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Críostóir Kirby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Darby Hunt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Darby Hunt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Derrick McFrank was the one to do the kick off. Brann Moran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brann Moran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bardon Cassin having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eoghan Delaney in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bardon Cassin saved Ballinalack from getting behind. In the 67th minute Brann Moran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bardon Cassin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bardon Cassin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eoghan Delaney in the 69th minute of the match. Terence Horgan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bardon Cassin having to interfere. Darby Hunt hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. If Darby Hunt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eoghan Delaney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bardon Cassin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brann Moran in the 91st minute of play. Ballinalack's Bardon Cassin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brann Moran in the 95th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ballinalack players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Attavally Utd.
