Bola McTom charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bola McTom the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Robin McAlphie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blar McJames in the 20th minute of play. Blar McJames fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin McAlphie having to interfere. Robin McAlphie made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Blar McJames sent off a good shot on target. If Beachain Scully had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th match minute, Blackwater was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bola McTom to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st match minute, Shanlaragh AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pearse McOliver to maneuver through the defense. Beachain Scully fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brennan Coyle having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Beachain Scully made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Shanlaragh AFC's Blar McJames nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robin McAlphie made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The supporters of Blackwater booed when Shanlaragh AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blar McJames didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 57 minutes, Bras Caffey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Blackwater and the Shanlaragh AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Shanlaragh AFC made a substitution. Lewis McOliver replaced Ricard Keegan. Blar McJames recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69thth minute of the game Blar McJames who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Blackwater's Robin McAlphie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Blar McJames sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 77th minute of the match, Beachain Scully tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Brennan Coyle saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to Shanlaragh AFC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Bohannon Ryan hit a great ball. Beachain Scully kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 80thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Shanlaragh AFC's keeper Brennan Coyle was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. When Shanlaragh AFC's Blar McJames in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Blackwater's goalie prevented a goal. Beachain Scully sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 92 minutes, Bohannon Ryan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shanlaragh AFC and the Blackwater players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Shanlaragh AFC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Bohannon Ryan hit a great ball. Beachain Scully fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brennan Coyle having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Shanlaragh AFC had played much better football throughout.
