Caoilte McNamara hit a great ball. Barhart Cronin kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Harley McTommy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bradagain McPaul's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Torrian Hamilton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Athboy's Pierce Duggan got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pierce Duggan was the one to do the kick off. Donavin Molloy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Braonain Byrne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierce Duggan in the 57th minute of the match. Srananagh Utd's Braonain Byrne proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Srananagh Utd from getting a goal against them. If Pierce Duggan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donavin Molloy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braonain Byrne having to interfere. Srananagh Utd's Barhart Cronin got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Athboy getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Caoilte McNamara hit a great ball. In the 80th minute, Caoilte McNamara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Srananagh Utd's Braonain Byrne got control of the ball when Donavin Molloy tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 85th minute Harley McTommy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torrian Hamilton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 86 played minutes Srananagh Utd got a freekick which was hit by Barhart Cronin. After 87 played minutes Srananagh Utd got a freekick which was hit by Bradagain McPaul. Pierce Duggan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braonain Byrne having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Srananagh Utd's Shamus Byrne got a free kick in the 96th minute. When Pierce Duggan came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Athboy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pierce Duggan couldn't finish the play.
