Rannal O'Brien showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomás McCready, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. If Saoirse Ramsey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rowen Willson to strike the kick off in the second half. Baileborough's Rannal O'Brien played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berchan McPhil in the 54th minute of play. Berchan McPhil struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Rannal O'Brien didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Laurencetown. In the 61st minute, Saoirse Ramsey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rannal O'Brien breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomás McCready in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rannal O'Brien saved Baileborough from getting behind. If Tomás McCready had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Baileborough fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Laurencetown were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
