Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gill McSteven started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Gill McSteven managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corbaly's supporters rose to their feet, but Gill McSteven was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bardon Cassin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bairthmead Cassin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 11th minute, Gill McSteven left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Corbaly fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Bairthmead Cassin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bardon Cassin having to interfere. After 16 minutes, Derrick McFrank mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballinalack and the Corbaly players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Darby Hunt came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Ballinalack fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darby Hunt couldn't finish the play. Gill McSteven received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Bardon Cassin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 25 played minutes Ballinalack got a freekick which was hit by Britt Cassin. If Gill McSteven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bairthmead Cassin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Corbaly booed when Ballinalack was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darby Hunt didn't get a good kick on the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Ballinalack's goal looked a bit too open when Gill McSteven came free, but Bardon Cassin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, Corbaly's Bairthmead Cassin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bardon Cassin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bairthmead Cassin in the 43rd minute of play forced Ballinalack's goalkeeper Bardon Cassin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Ballinalack defense, Bairthmead Cassin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bardon Cassin. The Ballinalack fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bardon Cassin should have stopped the shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Derrick McFrank made a kick off. Gill McSteven received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Bardon Cassin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th minute, Bairthmead Cassin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 59th minute, Gill McSteven got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 63 played minutes Ballinalack got a freekick which was hit by Darby Hunt. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 66th minute of the game. One of Ballinalack:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Corbaly:s goal. When the match had been going on for 67 minutes, Corbaly's Antaine Perth got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Bardon Cassin. Bairthmead Cassin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bardon Cassin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Bairthmead Cassin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Bardon Cassin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 75th minute, Corbaly's Bairthmead Cassin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-6. Bairthmead Cassin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Bardon Cassin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gill McSteven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bairthmead Cassin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bardon Cassin having to interfere. In the 88thth minute of the game Gill McSteven who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ballinalack's Bardon Cassin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bardon Cassin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gill McSteven in the 92nd minute of play. Bardon Cassin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gill McSteven in the 93rd minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Corbaly left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Ballinalack.
