Robert Dempsey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fachtna McDonald having to interfere. After 8 minutes, Brefni McLiam mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballygarvan AFC and the Ballyteige Utd players grew even worse after the yellow card. 7 minutes into the game, one of Ballygarvan AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Dempsey in the 13th minute of play forced Ballygarvan AFC's goalkeeper Fachtna McDonald to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 21 minutes into the game, Kyle Harkin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Troy McPhilip was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kyle Harkin in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Troy McPhilip prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 31 minutes into the match, Britt Harkin notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Ballyteige Utd's Troy McPhilip. Troy McPhilip was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Troy McPhilip stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kyle Harkin's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Fachtna McDonald made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Dempsey in the 35th minute of play. Fachtna McDonald was out of position in the 38 minute of play, and Robert Dempsey capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Robert Dempsey really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. After 41 minutes, Burke McFrank mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballygarvan AFC and the Ballyteige Utd players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Ballygarvan AFC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Burke McFrank hit a great ball. In the 44th minute, Rowe McPhil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Kyle Harkin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballygarvan AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kyle Harkin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Troy McPhilip breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Troy McPhilip showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Britt Harkin, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 65th match minute, Ballyteige Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beary McPhil to maneuver through the defense. Darren McWillie was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 66th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ballyteige Utd's Troy McPhilip played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Britt Harkin in the 68th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Kyle Harkin made a precise shot to the right of Troy McPhilip. Ballyteige Utd's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. 80 minutes into the match, Ballygarvan AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Dempsey came free, but Fachtna McDonald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brenden O'Brien charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brenden O'Brien the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Brenden O'Brien kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. With his leg Troy McPhilip managed to avoid a goal in the 87thth minute, when Ballygarvan AFC's Kyle Harkin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
