In the 23rd minute, Sean McPeter sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cappavicar's Barley McOliver didn't even have to move. Barley McOliver took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gearard Barrett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gearard Barrett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Derry McMichel charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Derry McMichel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 33 played minutes, Drumlave's Sean McPeter shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Barley McOliver came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Drumlave reached it. If Gearard Barrett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Finian Costello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Barley McOliver showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Finian Costello in the 39th minute of the match. After 39 minutes, Barram McNamee mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cappavicar and the Drumlave players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cappavicar's Barram McNamee got a free kick in the 40th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 41st minute of the game. One of Cappavicar:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Drumlave:s goal. Gearard Barrett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barley McOliver having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Barram McNamee was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Drumlave's zone, Barram McNamee stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bairee McStephen came out of the goal and Barram McNamee tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Derry McMichel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute, Finian Costello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Finian Costello in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Barley McOliver, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After having played for 72 minutes, Brenden Rutherford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cappavicar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brenden Rutherford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Barram McNamee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bairee McStephen having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herne Robinson in the 86th minute of play forced Drumlave's goalkeeper Bairee McStephen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gearard Barrett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Drumlave walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
