Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Harrington Quinnless started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 4 minutes into the match, Cloghroe's goal looked a bit too open when Harrington Quinnless came free, but Banon Ghee reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 6th minute Finglas AFC were awarded a corner. Bressail Moran went to the cornerflag to take it. After having played for 10 minutes, Harrington Quinnless managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Finglas AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harrington Quinnless was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Conaill McNamara dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cahir Doherty, 1-0. Sameer Sheridan charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sameer Sheridan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sameer Sheridan kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Roordan McSteve got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Harrington Quinnless fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Banon Ghee having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gearard McBrandon during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Cloghroe booed when Finglas AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gearard McBrandon didn't get a good kick on the ball. 27 minutes into the game, Conaill McNamara recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cahir Doherty. Conaill McNamara showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Through an outstanding action, after 30 minutes, Cahir Doherty successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Derry Doherty kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Conaill McNamara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Cahir Doherty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Auley Grant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cahir Doherty having to interfere. Riddock Duggan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Cahir Doherty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cahir Doherty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conaill McNamara, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Cloghroe's Conaill McNamara slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cahir Doherty. That made the score 3-0 after 46 minutes of play.
The wind increased when Conaill McNamara made the kick off in the second half. Donan Walker hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Roordan McSteve could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Banon Ghee made a huge save. 57 minutes into the match, Cloghroe's Auley Grant sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cahir Doherty narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Auley Grant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cahir Doherty having to interfere. Patrick Gough's late challenge caught a Cloghroe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patrick Gough helped the player get up and apologised. After 60 played minutes Finglas AFC got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Gough. Auley Grant might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cahir Doherty. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Auley Grant ran back to his position shaking his head. Auley Grant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 70 played minutes Cloghroe got a freekick which was hit by Conaill McNamara. Auley Grant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Cahir Doherty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Conaill McNamara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. The tension between the Finglas AFC and the Cloghroe players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conaill McNamara in the 85th minute of play forced Finglas AFC's goalkeeper Cahir Doherty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Conaill McNamara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Auley Grant in the 88th minute of play forced Finglas AFC's goalkeeper Cahir Doherty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Auley Grant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Banon Ghee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harrington Quinnless in the 94th minute of play. Auley Grant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Cahir Doherty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cloghroe walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
