Coolcullen Utd were furious when Bret Kirby was red carded, 18 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 19th minute, Bret Kirby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Terry Gallagher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Breasal McPaul having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Gil Callaghan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Breasal McPaul. Coolcullen Utd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gil Callaghan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 43rd minute, Ennis Sheridan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Donoghue Harkin to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Declan Gough during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Declan Gough hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Breasal McPaul showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gil Callaghan in the 61st minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Coolcullen Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Ryon McFrancise came free, but Breasal McPaul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Breasal McPaul showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gil Callaghan in the 66th minute of the match. Keely Beckett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bola Delaney in the 74th minute of the match. Breasal McPaul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ryon McFrancise, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Coolcullen Utd's Breasal McPaul played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ryon McFrancise in the 92nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Coolcullen Utd's Braonain Caffey got a free kick in the 94th minute. When the referee ended the match the Coolcorragh AFC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
