To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 20th minute Abbot Matthews shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blamhac McNamee saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st match minute, Clownings was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gealan Jameson to maneuver through the defense. Quinton Ghee charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Quinton Ghee the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience was convinced that Abbot Matthews 's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Blamhac McNamee was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Abbot Matthews ran back to his position shaking his head. Birr Molloy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gealan Jameson was the one to do the kick off. An unexpected shot in the 54th minute by Abbot Matthews got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Blamhac McNamee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abbot Matthews in the 69th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 72 minutes, Blamhac McNamee successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Kiltybegs AFC were awarded a corner in the 73th minute after Clownings's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Reagan Doyle took the corner. Thanks to some nice moves Birr Molloy could shoot a difficult shot in the 77th minute, which Blamhac McNamee however easily saved by the left post. Abbot Matthews sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abbot Matthews received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Blamhac McNamee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abbot Matthews in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Blamhac McNamee prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Kiltybegs AFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
