Barran McSteven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terry Savic in the 37th minute of the match. If Caimin McBrand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Terry Savic was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Terry Savic fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a rather tough play, Laught's Pat Palmer got a free kick in the 59th minute. Pat Palmer's late challenge caught a Ballyfarnan Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Barran McSteven stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Terry Savic's shot from short distance in the 98th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
