After 16 minutes, Toran Cassin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mulroog and the Ballyshannon players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Mulroog getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Toran Cassin hit a great ball. After 17 played minutes, Ballyshannon's Barnaby Cooney shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Blanaid McGlynn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ballyshannon reached it. Barra Lavine struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Bragan McJames didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mulroog. Barra Lavine blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bragan McJames having to make a save. Toran Cassin struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Bragan McJames didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mulroog. Seán McDonald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Blanaid McGlynn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Phelim Mullan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballyshannon's supporters rose to their feet, but Phelim Mullan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Blanaid McGlynn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 33rd minute, Phelim Mullan made a precise shot to the right of Blanaid McGlynn. Mulroog's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Kerrigan Dempsey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Blanaid McGlynn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Mulroog's Toran Cassin in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. 53 minutes into the match, Ballyshannon's goal looked a bit too open when Toran Cassin came free, but Bragan McJames reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phelim Mullan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Blanaid McGlynn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Barra Lavine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Ballyshannon's zone, Barra Lavine stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bragan McJames came out of the goal and Barra Lavine tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bragan McJames took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toran Cassin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Phelim Mullan struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Blanaid McGlynn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ballyshannon. Ballyshannon's Seán McDonald got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Seán McDonald managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballyshannon's supporters rose to their feet, but Seán McDonald was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bragan McJames showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barra Lavine in the 96th minute of the match. The Ballyshannon players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
