Caoilte McAlphie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bragan McJames took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lewis McJon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 18 played minutes Kilteen AFC got a freekick which was hit by Hayes Rogers. Seán McDonald struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Caoilte McAlphie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ballyshannon. After a defensive mix-up in Kilteen AFC's zone, Phelim Mullan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Caoilte McAlphie came out of the goal and Phelim Mullan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Ballyshannon booed when Kilteen AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ailín McSteven didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Ballyshannon getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Bradley Grant hit a great ball. Kieran Ryan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Bragan McJames made a huge save. In the 36th minute Phelim Mullan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caoilte McAlphie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phelim Mullan kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

73 minutes into the match, Kilteen AFC's goalkeeper Caoilte McAlphie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Seán McDonald. Bragan McJames stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lewis McJon's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Lewis McJon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Bragan McJames tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Lewis McJon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bragan McJames was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. In the 95th minute Daniel McBrand collided with an opponent which caused him a fractured collar bone. After 96 minutes, Bradley Grant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballyshannon and the Kilteen AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Kilteen AFC booed when Ballyshannon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradley Grant didn't get a good kick on the ball. Despite being the better team, Ballyshannon failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
