Shamus McJames fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Todd having to interfere. Bow Caffrey's late challenge caught a Kildare's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bow Caffrey helped the player get up and apologised. In the 14th match minute, Mullan AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bow Caffrey to maneuver through the defense. Beachain Moran's late challenge caught a Mullan AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Beachain Moran helped the player get up and apologised. Beachain Moran kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. If Bardain Dunne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th match minute, Mullan AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bairee Gollogley to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 24th minute by Shamus McJames got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Cleary McOliver struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. John Todd didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mullan AFC. Baiscend Myler's late challenge caught a Mullan AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baiscend Myler helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Kildare's Baiscend Myler got a free kick in the 28th minute. A collision led to Mullan AFC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Bow Caffrey hit a great ball. Kildare's John Todd proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Kildare from getting a goal against them. John Todd made an important save on a dangerous shot by Shamus McJames in the 38th minute. Bardain Dunne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Torrans Matthews having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Shamus McJames made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bardain Dunne in the 55th minute of play forced Mullan AFC's goalkeeper Torrans Matthews to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 58 minutes, Shamus McJames managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mullan AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shamus McJames was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Torrans Matthews showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bardain Dunne, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Shamus McJames sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Biddy Hunt got free with Torrans Matthews in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. John Todd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shamus McJames, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Shamus McJames managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mullan AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Shamus McJames was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. John Todd breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Shamus McJames struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. John Todd didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mullan AFC. Mullan AFC's Desmond Hughes got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edwin McBrand hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. 87 minutes into the match, Kildare's Biddy Hunt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Torrans Matthews narrowly saved just below the crossbar. John Todd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shamus McJames, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Bairee Gollogley's late challenge caught a Kildare's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
