Donn Hunt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blanaid McGlynn having to interfere. The supporters of Mulroog booed when Ballinaspig AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Berach Gollogley didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute, Toran Cassin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 48 minutes into the game, Barra Lavine cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Enda Cassin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Ballinaspig AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mulroog were winning 0-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Donn Hunt made a kick off. Bearach McCollion might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Blanaid McGlynn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bearach McCollion ran back to his position shaking his head. Barra Lavine could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Enda Cassin made a huge save. If Toran Cassin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Berach Gollogley charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Blanaid McGlynn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bearach McCollion, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Enda Cassin was a little too slow when Toran Cassin got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 0-5. Barra Lavine struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Enda Cassin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mulroog. Barra Lavine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ballinaspig AFC's Enda Cassin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Ballinaspig AFC from getting a goal against them. When the final whistle sounded Mulroog left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Ballinaspig AFC.
