In the 22nd match minute, Ballyshannon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brede Tracy to maneuver through the defense. Bragan McJames came out of the goal and Bearach McCollion tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Enda Cassin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phelim Mullan, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Berach Gollogley kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. The supporters of Ballyshannon booed when Ballinaspig AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beolagh Hughes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Seán McDonald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes in the game, Phelim Mullan fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Enda Cassin having to interfere.

Ballyshannon's Phelim Mullan got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ballinaspig AFC's Enda Cassin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seán McDonald in the 60th minute of play. When Alexander Willson fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballinaspig AFC's protests and gave Alexander Willson a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Ballinaspig AFC's Alexander Willson got a free kick in the 61st minute. Enda Cassin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Seán McDonald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the game, Berach Gollogley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ballinaspig AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballyshannon the free kick. Bearach McCollion fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bragan McJames having to interfere. Ballyshannon's Bradley Grant got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Enda Cassin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phelim Mullan in the 77th minute of play. A collision led to Ballyshannon getting a freekick after 79 minutes play.
