The Kildare fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that John Todd should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kieran Ryan in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck John Todd prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lewis McJon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th match minute, Kildare was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beachain Moran to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute, Kieran Ryan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Kilteen AFC's goalkeeper Caoilte McAlphie, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Caoilte McAlphie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edwin McBrand, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bardain Dunne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bardain Dunne in the 29th minute of play forced Kilteen AFC's goalkeeper Caoilte McAlphie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Kieran Ryan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Biddy Hunt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hayes Rogers hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Biddy Hunt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Caoilte McAlphie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Bardain Dunne reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Caoilte McAlphie. The goal made the score 1-2. John Todd didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kieran Ryan went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. In the 47th match minute, Kilteen AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hayes Rogers to maneuver through the defense. Kildare's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Piers Beckett in the 50th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lewis McJon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kieran Ryans short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got John Todd to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Lewis McJon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 64 minutes, John Todd successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Kieran Ryan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Todd having to interfere. Kilteen AFC's Kieran Ryan got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 71st minute, Ailín McSteven hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 74 played minutes Kildare got a freekick which was hit by Caoilte Mulvihill. 76 minutes into the game, Kieran Ryan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kilteen AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kildare the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lewis McJon in the 79th minute of play forced Kildare's goalkeeper John Todd to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lewis McJon was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 82nd minute. Kilteen AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Kieran Ryan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Todd having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Kilteen AFC's John Todd threw himself towards the right post 89 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lewis McJon, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 91 minutes into the match, Kildare's goal looked a bit too open when Lewis McJon came free, but John Todd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Kildare fans' excitement grew in the 97th match minute when Kildare's Biddy Hunt looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The Kilteen AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
