A collision led to Strade getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Bin Ferguson hit a great ball. Reagan Lester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kerrigan Dempsey, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. If Pawd McCready had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phelim Mullan charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phelim Mullan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 10th minute, Phelim Mullan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th match minute, Ballyshannon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bradley Grant to maneuver through the defense. Reagan Lester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bradley Grant in the 13th minute of play. Ballyshannon's Bragan McJames proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Ballyshannon from getting a goal against them. Strade's Reagan Lester played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerrigan Dempsey in the 18th minute of play. Bragan McJames showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Salmon Hutton, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Kerrigan Dempsey hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute, Salmon Hutton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Strade fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Lewy McPaul hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. When Pawd McCready came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Strade fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pawd McCready couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Salmon Hutton to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Ballyshannon's zone, Salmon Hutton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bragan McJames came out of the goal and Salmon Hutton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59th minute, Seán McDonald ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Reagan Lester was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Salmon Hutton put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Bragan McJames. Salmon Hutton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Bragan McJames tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Salmon Hutton had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bragan McJames. Ballyshannon's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Salmon Hutton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. After a rather tough play, Ballyshannon's Rorry Bayes got a free kick in the 70th minute. Bragan McJames made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salmon Hutton in the 72nd minute of play. After 73 minutes, Bradley Grant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballyshannon and the Strade players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 73rd minute, Bradley Grant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Strade fully deserved thier win.
