The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Donn Hunt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballinaspig AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Donn Hunt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 8thth minute of the game Bearach McCollion who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Killeany's Bedilia Robinson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 9 minutes, Boyle Dimson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Killeany and the Ballinaspig AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ballinaspig AFC booed when Killeany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boyle Dimson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bearach McCollion fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bedilia Robinson having to interfere. Brine Costello succeeded in the game's 16th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. When Donn Hunt came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Ballinaspig AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donn Hunt couldn't finish the play. Bedilia Robinson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bearach McCollion, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Ballinaspig AFC's zone, Brine Costello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enda Cassin came out of the goal and Brine Costello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd match minute, Killeany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lewis Hutton to maneuver through the defense. Brine Costello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Enda Cassin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Branagain Rogers hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After 44 minutes of play, Killeany's Breadan Gillmour made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Enda Cassin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Donn Hunt to make the kick off. Breadan Gillmour fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enda Cassin having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Ballinaspig AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Brine Costello came free, but Enda Cassin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Breanainn Beckett's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enda Cassin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. The supporters of Killeany booed when Ballinaspig AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Willson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boyle Dimson got his second yellow card in the match during the 66th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 67th minute, Boyle Dimson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bedilia Robinson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donn Hunt's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Enda Cassin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brine Costello in the 73rd minute of the match. Brine Costello kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Donn Hunt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bedilia Robinson was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Enda Cassin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Breadan Gillmour went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Breadan Gillmour's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enda Cassin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. After having played for 90 minutes, Brine Costello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Breanainn Beckett's late challenge caught a Ballinaspig AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Breanainn Beckett helped the player get up and apologised. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Killeany had won after a very even match.
