The audience was convinced that Salmon Hutton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but John Todd was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. John Todd stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Salmon Hutton's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Salmon Hutton in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg John Todd saved Kildare from getting behind. In the 15th minute, Blaire McDecland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Salmon Hutton in the 23rd minute of play forced Kildare's goalkeeper John Todd to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Blaire McDecland hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 31 minutes into the match, Bevan Holt notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Kildare's John Todd. John Todd was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Salmon Hutton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but John Todd read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Salmon Hutton in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg John Todd saved Kildare from getting behind. Bevan Holt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Bardain Dunne made the kick off in the second half. If Bevan Holt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Beachain Moran charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Beachain Moran the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Kildare! If Blaire McDecland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Salmon Hutton who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 66thth minute tested the skills of John Todd when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 70th minute, Edwin McBrand hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Kildare's zone, Salmon Hutton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. John Todd came out of the goal and Salmon Hutton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 73 minutes into the game, one of Kildare:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Reagan Lester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bardain Dunne in the 79th minute of play. When Bin Ferguson fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Strade's protests and gave Bin Ferguson a yellow card for diving instead. After some careless play in the Strade defense, Bardain Dunne kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reagan Lester. The Strade fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reagan Lester should have stopped the shot. John Todd made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bevan Holt in the 87th minute of play. Salmon Hutton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Salmon Hutton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. John Todd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Bevan Holt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Strade's Braoin McGlenn got a free kick in the 97th minute. Strade's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
