Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Berchan Tracy started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Seán McDonald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Donavin Myler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Seán McDonald ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Donavin Myler was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bradley Grant during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Dromahoe booed when Ballyshannon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradley Grant didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ballyshannon's Bragan McJames played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berchan Tracy in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th match minute, Ballyshannon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bradley Grant to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Dromahoe's Bellaghy McWilliam got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 30th minute, Berchan Tracy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Phelim Mullan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donavin Myler having to interfere. Donavin Myler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phelim Mullan, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 36th minute, Phelim Mullan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Trevor Mulvihill kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 42nd minute by Seán McDonald got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Phelim Mullan made the kick off in the second half. Dromahoe's Donavin Myler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phelim Mullan in the 61st minute of play. Phelim Mullan struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Donavin Myler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ballyshannon. After having played for 65 minutes, Seán McDonald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballyshannon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Seán McDonald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Donavin Myler came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Ballyshannon's Phelim Mullan. But to his dismay, Phelim Mullan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 71st minute, Bren Murphy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Donavin Myler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phelim Mullan in the 74th minute of the match. When Ballyshannon's Seán McDonald in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dromahoe's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that Phelim Mullan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Donavin Myler was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Branson Horgan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 79thth minute tested the skills of Bragan McJames when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 81st minute, Branson Horgan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bragan McJames was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Phelim Mullan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donavin Myler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. The Dromahoe players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
