In the 14th minute Patton McMichel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enda Cassin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patton McMichel scored 0-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enda Cassin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bearach McCollion could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Donall McCollion made a huge save. Patton McMichel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enda Cassin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Patton McMichel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Enda Cassin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Patton McMichel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 44 minutes, Cáirbre Sheridan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ladysbridge's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cáirbre Sheridan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Berach Gollogley fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballinaspig AFC's protests and gave Berach Gollogley a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ladysbridge booed when Ballinaspig AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Berach Gollogley didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Ballinaspig AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ladysbridge were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Patton McMichel made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Ballinaspig AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Patton McMichel came free, but Enda Cassin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ladysbridge fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 54th minute. Penalty! Ladysbridge's Cáirbre Sheridan got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ladysbridge's Patton McMichel got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Enda Cassin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patton McMichel in the 65th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Patton McMichel put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Enda Cassin. Bradigan MaCollin charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bradigan MaCollin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Patton McMichel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ballinaspig AFC's Enda Cassin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cáirbre Sheridan in the 77th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Ballinaspig AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Patton McMichel came free, but Enda Cassin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 92 minutes, Patton McMichel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ladysbridge's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patton McMichel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ladysbridge's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
