Kieran Ryan in the 18thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kevion Bayes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Baiscend McJohnny in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Caoilte McAlphie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Cairlinn booed when Kilteen AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hayes Rogers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cairlinn's Coinneach Lester got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kieran Ryan to make the kick off. When John McBjarton fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cairlinn's protests and gave John McBjarton a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cairlinn getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. The Cairlinn fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Kieran Ryan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lewis McJon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevion Bayes having to interfere. Cairlinn's Kevion Bayes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kieran Ryan in the 79th minute of play. John McBjarton kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Cairlinn's goal looked a bit too open when Lewis McJon came free, but Kevion Bayes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel McBrand charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Kilteen AFC's Caoilte McAlphie proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Kilteen AFC from getting a goal against them. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cairlinn walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
