When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Brefni Ryan took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Bodibeua Cronin to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Tamlat AFC booed when Meelick AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brendan Jameson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bodibeua Cronin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Berk Matthews in the 11th minute. Boroimhe Deery might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Berrach Taylor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Boroimhe Deery ran back to his position shaking his head. Peadair McMichel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Berrach Taylor having to interfere. Boroimhe Deery received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Berrach Taylor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Peadair McMichel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Peadair McMichel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meelick AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Peadair McMichel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Berrach Taylor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bodibeua Cronin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breas McWilliam in the 28th minute of play. Boroimhe Deery received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Berrach Taylor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Peadair McMichel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 35 minutes into the match, Tamlat AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Peadair McMichel came free, but Berrach Taylor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boroimhe Deery recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Peadair McMichel came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Meelick AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peadair McMichel couldn't finish the play. In the 45th minute, Boroimhe Deery got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Boroimhe Deery stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Peadair McMichel came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Meelick AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peadair McMichel couldn't finish the play. In the 70th minute Boroimhe Deery shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Berrach Taylor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bodibeua Cronin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brefni Ryan in the 71st minute of play. If Brefni Ryan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bodibeua Cronin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brefni Ryan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tamlat AFC's Berrach Taylor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peadair McMichel in the 79th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Peadair McMichel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meelick AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Peadair McMichel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Berrach Taylor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 84 minutes into the game, Tamlat AFC's Bourns Barrett nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bodibeua Cronin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Bodibeua Cronin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Berk Matthews in the 88th minute of the match. Peadair McMichel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Berrach Taylor having to interfere. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tamlat AFC's goalkeeper Berrach Taylor, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Many of Meelick AFC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Meelick AFC may have spent more time on the ball, but Tamlat AFC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
