The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 10 minutes of play, Knockgaffon's Ennis McPhil made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brayden Harkin was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had been going on for 16 minutes, Grangeford's Tate Johnson got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Geoffrey McBrandon. Knockgaffon's Bearnard Frankson got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After taking down the ball on Knockgaffon's corner Kevinn Keegan fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Brayden Harkin quite easily take care of the ball. 27 minutes into the game, Brennan McBrandon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grangeford's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Knockgaffon the free kick. Brennan McBrandon kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 31st minute of the match Eoin Mulvihill sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Brayden Harkin skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Bearnard Frankson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brayden Harkin was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Brayden Harkin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ennis McPhil in the 36th minute of play. Bearnard Frankson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd match minute, Grangeford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Irving Savic to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Knockgaffon's Geoffrey McBrandon got control of the ball when Brannon Dillon tried to sneak it across the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bearnard Frankson to make the kick off. Berrigan McSteven hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After 54 played minutes Knockgaffon got a freekick which was hit by Bearnard Frankson. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Berrigan McSteven managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grangeford's supporters rose to their feet, but Berrigan McSteven was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geoffrey McBrandon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Irwin Hunt fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grangeford's protests and gave Irwin Hunt a yellow card for diving instead. Bearnard Frankson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Brayden Harkin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geoffrey McBrandon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Irving Savic, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Theodore Kelly hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. 68 minutes into the match, Knockgaffon's Kevinn Keegan broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 71 minutes into the match, Grangeford's goalkeeper Brayden Harkin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ennis McPhil. After a defensive mix-up in Grangeford's zone, Ennis McPhil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brayden Harkin came out of the goal and Ennis McPhil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Knockgaffon booed when Grangeford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Theodore Kelly didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 74 minutes of play, Knockgaffon's Bearnard Frankson made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brayden Harkin was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 79th minute Brannon Dillon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geoffrey McBrandon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ennis McPhil blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Brayden Harkin having to make a save. Berrigan McSteven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 90 played minutes Grangeford got a freekick which was hit by Scot O'Keefe. When Kevinn Keegan came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Knockgaffon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kevinn Keegan couldn't finish the play.
