An unexpectedly hard shot by Bret Hamilton in the 11th minute of play forced Knockrath AFC's goalkeeper Bradagain Murphy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kevin Delaney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Brite Tierney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Kevin Delaney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brite Tierney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reilley Ghee, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Perry McJohnny struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Bradagain Murphy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lisgorey. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Brite Tierney successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Kevin Delaney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the match, Reilley Ghee dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Brite Tierney, 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Knockrath AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Reilley Ghee was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brite Tierney breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Knockrath AFC's Reilley Ghee got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Reilley Ghee got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Lisgorey defense, Reilley Ghee kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brite Tierney. The Lisgorey fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brite Tierney should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Turlough Deery during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 94 played minutes Knockrath AFC got a freekick which was hit by Turlough Deery. Reilley Ghee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Brite Tierney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
