After 25 played minutes, Ballyhoura's Bram McBjarton shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Beamard Hamilton came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ballyhoura reached it. After 26 minutes of play, Ballyhoura's Scott McJon made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Scott McJon got free with Beamard Hamilton in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Keely Sheridan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Rourke Myler made the kick off in the second half. Brendanus O'Neill charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brendanus O'Neill the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Dublin booed when Ballyhoura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brendanus O'Neill didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beamard Hamilton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Scott McJon in the 62nd minute of the match. Rourke Myler received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bil McBrand came out and tried to block the shot, but Rourke Myler slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 63rd minute. Rourke Myler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bil McBrand having to interfere. Beamard Hamilton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Logan Duggan in the 71st minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, Doney McSteve had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bil McBrand. Ballyhoura's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Doney McSteve was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 76 minutes into the game, Doney McSteve cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Bil McBrand was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Beamard Hamilton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Logan Duggan, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Bean Gough's late challenge caught a Ballyhoura's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bean Gough helped the player get up and apologised. In the 86th minute, Bean Gough hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Beamard Hamilton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Logan Duggan, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. When the final whistle went the supporters of Dublin were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Ballyhoura side.
