Spectators: 6773 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1773, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Breenan Kelly took the kick off in the first half of the match. Peyton Dalton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Conn Hughes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Peyton Dalton during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Peyton Dalton hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Bradner Frankson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conn Hughes having to interfere. Conn Hughes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Peyton Dalton went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 19 minutes, Breenan Kelly mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Crossconnell AFC and the Mardyke players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 19 played minutes Crossconnell AFC got a freekick which was hit by Breenan Kelly. Peyton Dalton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conn Hughes having to interfere. After having played for 22 minutes, Bradner Frankson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mardyke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bradner Frankson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Louie Hutton fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Crossconnell AFC's protests and gave Louie Hutton a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Crossconnell AFC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Louie Hutton hit a great ball. Bradner Frankson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Conn Hughes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Crossconnell AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Bradner Frankson came free, but Conn Hughes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Breenan Kelly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bergin McFrank hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Bradner Frankson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Conn Hughes having to make a save. Braddon Doherty sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Crossconnell AFC's Conn Hughes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradner Frankson in the 41st minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Bannon Ryan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Crossconnell AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mardyke the free kick. When Peyton Dalton came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Mardyke fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peyton Dalton couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bradner Frankson made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adamnan John during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bradner Frankson got free with Conn Hughes in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 69th minute, Louie Hutton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Peyton Dalton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Conn Hughes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bradner Frankson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute Breenan Kelly shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bebhinn Holt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peyton Dalton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Conn Hughes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dane McNamara kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. In the 86th match minute, Mardyke was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bradner Frankson to maneuver through the defense. Conn Hughes made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Bradner Frankson sent off a good shot on target. The Crossconnell AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mardyke were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
