If Don McNamara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 44 minutes into the match, Camp's goalkeeper Caolán Brennan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Blathmac McFrank. Blathmac McFrank's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 46thth minute, Caolán Brennan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Urbalreagh's supporters rose to their feet, but Blathmac McFrank was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Caolán Brennan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 55thth minute of the game Blathmac McFrank who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Camp's Caolán Brennan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Urbalreagh's Ciarán Sheridan got control of the ball when Rannal Perth tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Urbalreagh. The referee gave Camp a penalty, 86 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gearroid Lavine, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Urbalreagh's Ciarán Sheridan. 0-1. Caolán Brennan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blathmac McFrank in the 89th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Blathmac McFrank left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Urbalreagh fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 96th minute, Blathmac McFrank ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Caolán Brennan was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. There was no doubt that Urbalreagh were the better team. Urbalreagh's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
