Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Bofickil's Piers Cronin started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Strokestown booed when Bofickil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bebhinn McSteven didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Desmond McLian fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Strokestown's protests and gave Desmond McLian a yellow card for diving instead. Desmond McLian kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. When Piers Cronin came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Bofickil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Piers Cronin couldn't finish the play. Kieran McWillie made a great header on Strokestown's corner, it was just that Bofickil's Bairre McPaul managed to reach the ball for a save. When Bartel Ryan came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Bofickil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bartel Ryan couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Piers Cronin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Branagain Bayes was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. When Piers Cronin came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Bofickil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Piers Cronin couldn't finish the play. Harley Costello might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bairre McPaul. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Harley Costello ran back to his position shaking his head. Bairre McPaul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Desmond McLian in the 44th minute of play. After 46 played minutes Bofickil got a freekick which was hit by Reamann Brennan. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Desmond McLian to make the kick off. Strokestown's Branagain Bayes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Piers Cronin in the 53rd minute of play. If Piers Cronin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Piers Cronin in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Branagain Bayes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Reamann Brennan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Branagain Bayes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Harrington Hughes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Strokestown's Branagain Bayes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Piers Cronin in the 64th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Bofickil's zone, Alan Frankson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bairre McPaul came out of the goal and Alan Frankson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Branagain Bayes didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Bofickil's Piers Cronin shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-0 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 85th minute, Piers Cronin made a precise shot to the right of Branagain Bayes. Strokestown's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Branagain Bayes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bartel Ryan in the 88th minute of the match. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Strokestown! In the 94th minute, Fergus Deery hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bofickil's Bairre McPaul proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Bofickil from getting a goal against them. Harley Costello kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match.
