After a rather tough play, Cleanderry Utd's Cleary Deans got a free kick in the 11th minute. Patton Rogers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Willson in the 12th minute of the match. Tobin Dimson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tate Hutton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patton Rogers made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Gehan Costello sent off a good shot on target. In the 42nd minute Tate Hutton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobin Dimson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ros McBrandon kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 46th minute, Tate Hutton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Torey McOliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Tobin Dimson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tate Hutton to strike the kick off in the second half. Patton Rogers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harrington Mullan, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Seoirse Cooney recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Beiti Rutherford hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Patton Rogers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harrington Mullan, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. When Harrington Mullan came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Clonoulty FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harrington Mullan couldn't finish the play. If Torey McOliver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 81 minutes, Ros McBrandon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clonoulty FC and the Cleanderry Utd players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Cleanderry Utd booed when Clonoulty FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ros McBrandon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Harrington Mullan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Seoirse Cooney in the 86th minute of play forced Cleanderry Utd's goalkeeper Patton Rogers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clonoulty FC's Tobin Dimson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Clonoulty FC from getting a goal against them. After having played for 97 minutes, Harrington Mullan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clonoulty FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harrington Mullan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee ended the match the Clonoulty FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
