Pierce MaCollin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ros McBrandon in the 3rd minute of play. When Alex Grant fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Powerstown's protests and gave Alex Grant a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th minute there was a penalty for Clonoulty FC. Desmond Delaney stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pierce MaCollin. 1-0. Pierce MaCollin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Seoirse Cooney in the 11th minute of the match. Bradagain Todd's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pierce MaCollin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. A hard, long distance shot from Alex Grant flew over the goal. Pierce MaCollin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Seoirse Cooney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Harrington Mullan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pierce MaCollin. The goal made the score 2-0. With a little luck, Powerstown's Pierce MaCollin got control of the ball when Harrington Mullan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bradagain Todd was extremely unlucky when he, in the 31st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 38thth minute of the game Brannon Hutton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clonoulty FC's Tobin Dimson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pierce MaCollin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Harrington Mullan in the 45th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bradagain Todd stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pierce MaCollin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ros McBrandon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tobin Dimson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brannon Hutton, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Pierce MaCollin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Harrington Mullan went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. In the 72nd minute Brannon Hutton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobin Dimson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Clonoulty FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Seoirse Cooney hit a great ball. The supporters of Clonoulty FC booed when Powerstown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timmons McDecland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pierce MaCollin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bradagain Todd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pierce MaCollin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bradagain Todd in the 78th minute of the match. Powerstown's Pierce MaCollin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seoirse Cooney in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th minute Bradagain Todd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierce MaCollin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Desmond Delaney kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Clonoulty FC's Tobin Dimson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brannon Hutton in the 82nd minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Powerstown's Beiti Willson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-1. Clonoulty FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
